My Computer Hardware World.

Do I like it or not, this is my profession. Even thought my current job is not directly related to it - Bachelor of Science Computer Science, is what's written in my Diploma from Polytechnic University. As of now, and as I always did I prefer to work with hardware. I love to install it to configure it, and to think of it. Would be more fun to invent my own computer hardware, design it troubleshoot it and test it. However a very expensive equipment is required in order to do it.

To be short - I still study in colleges, and still Computer Hardware is my favorite subject among practical ones. to be honest, when I was admitted in Polytechnic University as a freshman in 1996 I was entering there as a computer engineering major. I thought of being proficient both in electric/electronic circuits and in computer programming. however due to trends of that time I changed my major to Computer Science which was my greatest mistake.

Let me tell you a few words about my technical background: From early childhood I was interested in radios, electronics, and how do they work. Being 2 year old I loved to take apart both transistor and vacuum tube radios found at our home. Later on, in January 1989 being 10-year-old I joined a Radio-construction-club in Odessa, Ukraine, where I was a member till the last month of my living in Odessa. There I learned namely how to build any circuit by my own hands. I knew all the processes including etching, drilling, transformer winding, etc.

The room next to our radio-class was a computer lab. So 2 years later in February 1991 I joined the computer class, where I was told how to write very simple programs in BASIC. Later on, I took some book and learned the rest. I practiced just a little, yet knew about the content, logic, and philosophy of imperative programming languages. You can also look on my computer resume.

Previously in Summer 1990 I bought an MK61  programmable calculator, just for a sake of electronic games. I.e. that time I supposed just to type in already written programs for a kind-of-gaming on this calculator. However, once upon a time, my friend came in our house and gave me a couple of hints on how to program this calculator in order to solve complex mathematical equations in one shot. Since I already new the general philosophy of programming that time, learned pretty quickly to program this calculator

When I came in USA everyone told me that my interest in electronic fabrication is very useless, that's it is already done by machines. So without loosing time on getting frustrated I chose to study Computer Engineering, and Computer Science when I finished school. that time among the rest of my interested such a music, transportation, etc I found my professional interest - the strongest. namely this issue made me chose Polytechnic University as a school to study in, yet this decision was not my best one. So now am still taking classes in Computer engineering in NYC College Of Technology, as a kind of Second BAchelor's Degree.

Starting in August 22, 1993 I always have a computer in my home. During my high school time, which was not the best, since I did not have any technical/computer subjects then, I found computer very mysterious and it was a pleasure and mystery to use it. Later on when I was a college student computer became more and more my working tool. I loved to learn computer programming languages. I found an Object-Oriented philosophy very interesting, as a thing which I did not learn in Summer 1991. I learned more then 20 programming languages on my  own. I learned different platforms and Operating Systems, which made me very happy.

but everything faded down with getting of my diploma. The tragedy of September 11, 2001 fell just on my last semester. Even thought I new it just through the news, and all one my my loved one and friends were fortunately OUT OF SCENE on that day, this tragedy gave a tremendous devastating impact on Computer Programming Market. In January 2002 the market was just a constant to what it was just 2 years before Year 2000 problem, which made programming grew actually. So I still learned programming languages but still less vigorously and, and making emphasis on computer hardware, electronics. I started to devote more time to my transportation and music hobbies. Found a lot of new friends. But now I really regret that I am 100% computer dependent. I still feel nostalgic for LIVE talks with friends, paper books made of paper, "do it by hands" building sets. etc.

I hope - everything awaits me. And really want to reuse my computer science and engineering knowledge for industry, music and transportation.
